The World Resources Institute and Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento (FLAD) co-sponsored the first full meeting of the Partnership for Principle 10 in Lisbon, Portugal.

This inaugural meeting brought together representatives from nine governments, ten NGOs and four international organizations to discuss strategy and governance of the Partnership.

The partners made decisions and recommendations regarding the following characteristics of the Partnership:

• Scope and objectives;
• Values and operating principles;
• Short-term and long-term strategies;
• Specific commitments of the Partners;
• Governance structure and decision-making procedures; and
• Resource needs and availability.
