- Discussion
- Objective: Partners reaffirm the scope and objectives of the
Partnership, with particular attention paid to the general commitments
made by all partners.
- Documents: An updated one-page description of PP10 approved
by Partners at WSSD, the CSD registration form for the Partnership (II)

Session IV. Strategy for PP10
- Presentation: The elements of a PP10 strategy
- Discussion: In small groups partners will discuss
the proposed strategy of the Partnership, identifying the minimum objectives
the Partnership must implement in order to serve common interests. For
example, to what degree must the Partnership serve as a vehicle to mobilize
funding for implementation in developing countries? How important is
the Partnership's role in enabling partners to record, report against,
and be held accountable for their commitments?

- Objective: Partners agree to a statement outlining PP10's strategy
that will guide the development of the Partnerhsip. A decision is reached
on which elements of the strategy should be developed further, by when
and by whom.

Session V. Specific Commitments
- Presentation: A proposal for types of specific commitments.
Presentation will identify the primary obstacles remaining--for example,
many of the commitments are not time-bound, are not tied to specific
funding requests or availability, and are not 'additional' to current
work.
- Discussion: Partners will present their commitments, and discuss
their adequacy and the feasibility of moving toward additional, time-bound
commitments.
- Objective: Partners adopt a statement on the types of commitments
to be formulated, the minimum level of specificity that commitments
must contain to make the Partnership worthwhile, and a timeframe within
which commitments that meet this required level of specificity will
be available from their organizations.
- Documents: Specific commitments, List of partners and status
of commitments, copies of the commitments submitted by partners

Session VI. Governance Structure: Policies, elements, and functions
- Presentation: Two presentations will be made:
- "Governance options for networks and partnerships," Background paper
prepared for the PP10 meeting will be presented by Linda Nowlan
- Options and a proposal for a PP10 governance structure and functions
- Discussion: Small groups will make proposals
for a decision on form of organization, policies, governance elements,
functions, and Secretariat.
- Objective: Based on the discussion, the partners will agree
on a governance mechanism for the Partnership.

Session VII. Resource needs, availability and strategy to match resources
and needs.
- Presentation: What are the short-term and long-term financial
needs of the Partnership? Financial needs are divided into twocategories:
PP10 Secretariat functions, and PP10 national-level implementation activities.
- Discussion: Partners will discuss the magnitude of the financial
needs and ways to align financial needs and resources.
- Objective: Partners will agree on a strategy for mobilizing
financial resources and make decisions on how to deal with the decisions
of the previous days on strategy and governance if resources are limited.
